As many a ROM began, started life as a Mr. Sinister, because of the high boots. As I progressed I became more unhappy with the asymmetrical nature of them, so ended up sanding all of it off and rebuilding them. Sinister had the right height, though, since ROM is supposed to be like 7 feet tall. Scratch built torso from plastic and putty, arms from some WWF figure. The head was just some random piece from my fodder box, I have no idea what it was, it was just the right shape, after modification. Wanted to put lights in him, but just got fed up with it after putzing around with crappy dollar store lights and switches. Maybe next time! I'm still working on his weapon, and building a base/diorama for him. Update 10/9/18 - Finished his weapon and gave him a shiny new paint job with liquid chrome. Broke open a Molotow pen and emptied the contents into my airbrush and went crazy! Love that stuff, new favorite. I went with his more obscure weapon because I think the design is more interesting and it was more of a challenge to fabricate - from polystyrene sheet and foam, all scratch built. Sprayed it with liquid chrome and a transparent red over that. I'll probably make his primary weapon eventually, possibly the other accessory the Kenner toy came with. Very happy with how he turned out! Hope you all enjoy this retro hero! ![]() |
