I was surprised the Star-Lord figure had the trench coat instead of the much cooler flight jacket, so like everyone else I trimmed it down to resemble the jacket Quill wears throughout most of the movie.
The scrawny legs on this figure always bothered me, and only recently did it occur to me that WS Captain America's legs would be a great substitute. No articulation is lost- both figures were surprisingly easy to split open, so the lower torso swap was very simple- no cracked plastic at all. (for those that don't know how to do this, you slowly apply pressure from the sides, ideally with a table vice, although channel lock pliers will do in a pinch)
I removed the black paint on the front of the thighs with acetone, but I'm leaving the bloodstripe for now, I think it looks cool. I realize the boots aren't screen-accurate, but I actually prefer this sculpt, and I think they're very much in line with the spirit of the character.
