Found a cheap Duke on eBay and I wanted to play with hair. Stripped and repainted the head, added human hair and a human/yak blend for the beard. Sewed the shirt, pants, and cloak, and fabricated the jerkin, scabbards, belts and rigs. Used a wooden spool end for the shield. The sword is a modified piece from the parts box. The seas is a modified pair of nail scissors. The pouch and boots are from Caustic Plastic's "fantasy Warrior" kit with a few modifications.
You really did something special with this head! I actually bought that Duke fig just because I thought the head would be good for customs later, but hadn't found a use for it yet. This is superb!
Hell yeah that's gorgeous! What a great imaginative direction to take him in. The only thing I'd feel compelled to do - and its just a personal preference really, is burnish him up a bit. Hit the metals with a patina, and if you have any remnants of his cloth/leather cord, experiment with some sepia tones or whichever corresponding colors that will knock down any newness and give it a sense of wear - your prerogative of course. Absolutely brilliant looking piece though! I'd love to see more of this kind of thing - I think he looks better than what he was! Time to make your own blades! ~phin
