Hey Realmers, long time listener, first time caller. After years of lurking I've finally completed my first custom, a Marvel Universe scale G.I. Joe Barbecue. Body Marvel Universe AIM Soldier - Torso, arms and legs. G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary Edition Barbecue - Head, chest piece, pouches, backpack, axe, etc. Paint Testor's Orange (acrylic) - Body Model Master Europe Gray w a few drops of Semi Gloss Black (acryl) - Gloves and boots. Pretty simple custom. I broke the AIM Soldier down completely, then ground down the joints with a Drexel tool to prevent paint rubbing. Had to cut and grind some of the pieces off of the G.I. Joe. Didn't primer the figure at all. Painted it, reassembled it, then glued the pouches and belt into place. I had to cut a few notches out of the belt with an x-axto knife to make it fit snugly. Also needed to drill a hole into his back for the pack to snap into. All in all, a very simple custom which is why I picked it for my first. Very pleased with how easily this came together. I hope you enjoy it. - Xamot ![]() |
