Using the Doctor Who Wolfman as a base figure, I hand sculpted the Demogorgon using forensics clay. It's really soft, and doesn't dry out. Easy to paint too. More detail work to come.
To get a similar result with some long animal ears I needed to sculpt, I was thinking of using Monster Clay (doesn't dry out) and coating it in tons of varnish (it stays flexible), that way the piece stays completely flexible and can be painted. Never figured out how to get the thing to keep its shape though, after a little posing it would completely distort.
Very very cool! Not familiar with the creature, but the amount of detail on the head is amazing! So the forensic clay, it stays malleable? Or did you sculpt two heads/one open, one closed?
It is very pliable and it is only one head. The facial "petals" I will call them, can open and close easily. I will have to cast two heads once I move from the design stage to molding. Thanks kindly for the feedback.
