Ram Man (Masters of the Universe) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:8703
Name:Ram Man
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Masters of the Universe
Creator:Madtinker76
Date Added:July 16, 2008
Base Figure:ML X3 Juggernaut
Height:7.00 inches
This is another one that was started awhile ago but never finished. Trying to clean up my work area a little bit. X3 Juggernaut never did anything for me except swear that the face looked more like Luke Wilson than Vinnie Jones. So I had taken the Vinnie Jones head off and found that Bizzaro from the DCSH line fit perfectly, plus Bizzaro's head is kind of flat on top like Ram Man's. Another bonus was the dented helmet fit perfectly on his head and was removable also.
The armor is layered foamie sheets with a chain from a LCBH Conan. The two clasps are from the 2002 Ram Man figure.I liked the tarnished look of the armor, it adds to the age and the wear and tear that it has seen.
Also in line with that I kept the color of the clothes muted, I was tempted to paint the classic colors but felt this worked well.

I have no idea how you sculpted the foamies sheets like that, I use those too, and I can't do that. Nice work.

Foamie sheets can stretch and mold? How? Do you hair-dry them to contour them around figures? Also, headset wire? Where is that available? Radioshack, maybe?
That'd be excellent if you could show WIP for the next figure you use this method on. And the how to make the rivets would be cool to know too.
Thanks!

some foamie sheets have a sticky back so for placement I just peeled the backing off and put it in place. Once I had settled on the placement, I super glued them into place. It works well because the foamie sheets can mold and stretch to fit the contours of the figure.
Adding the headset wire around the edges gives it a nice casted feel.
I don't have any WIP pics yet. but if you would like the next figure I use this on I will. I can show you how to make the rivets too.

As I understand it, it sounds like you made the shoulder pads from foamie sheets. How did you get them to stay in place? Super glue? Apoxie Sculpt? Something else? Do you have any WIP pics you can share?
