I bring you the second of six demon slayers from the novel, Sins of Laria, Book 4 of the Laria saga. Last year I created and posted the first demon slayer from the novel, a character named Gavrila, who gets her face horribly ripped apart. Her destroyed visage reflects her shattered mental state. Lasik, on the other hand, is a quiet, contemplative soul who wields a mighty spear. Wearing a simple monk's robe, Lasik represents the tragic consequences of apathy. His inaction and refusal to speak his mind costs him the life of his friend.

In order to create this figure, I began with an Electro figure. I think it was a Disney figure, because it was much taller than the standard Marvel Legends figures. Since Lasik is described as being a foot or so taller than his comrades, this worked well. I first swapped hands because the Electro hands were too small and were clenched fists. I took hands from a create-your-wrestler figure and gave it working wrist joints. I then took a wrestler's head and used sculpey and part of an Odin beard to create Lasik's head. Since this character rarely speaks, I went ahead and covered his mouth with a long mustache. The chest cover and wrists were then sculpted with sculpey. The sleeves and lower part of the robe are felt and the boots are a combination of sculpey and brown electrical tape. The necklace is from a Doctor Strange figure. The spear was created using an unknown spear head and an old paint brush.

I wasn't planning on finishing this figure given the amount of work it needed to match the character from the novel, but I am very happy with the finished product. Thank you for looking!
