I was in TRU this weekend, and saw about 30 of the new Spawn figure. Like all figures from McFarlane it had some cool sculpts but almost no articulation. I decided to take the pieces from the spawn figure and splice them into a ML Grim Reaper (lost about 2 pints of blood in the process :).
I really like the way it turned out, and was a relatively easy custom to complete.
Thanks. I do take commissions, but probably taking a break from Spawn customs for a bit. Have done three in the last year and a little burnt out on that character
for the lower arms and lower legs, I cut them off the TRU figure and glued them onto the Grim Reaper parts (after shortening those pieces). For the leg and arm wrap, I also cut them off and then dremmeled them down so that I could glue them to the bicep and thigh. also cut the chest design off the figure and glued those onto Reaper.
This is all we've wanted. I own the 10th Anniversary figure as well. And while it is great we need one done with modern articulation. Between this custom and the Walking Dead figures spliced with the Neca figures proves the true potential of this line.
I've got the 10th Anny figure, and it's by far the best Spawn figure McF Toys ever made...including the newest ones. This is a great custom...very close to the 10th Anny fig.
Whoa, great figure and idea! I used to collect Spawn figs and hated the lack of articulation. I didn't customize back then, but if I did, this type of figure would be my goal. Fantastic work!
