Having been inspired by GeekSummit's John Byrne Lex Luthor Guard figure, I set about using a similar recipe to make my own. I took the DC Superheroes/DC Universe Classics Lex Luthor and removed the head. Next, I took the head from a DC Universe Classics Doctor Mid-Nite and, after mixing up a small batch of Green Stuff, I created the stripe that was attached to the helmet's goggles and went back over the head from the bridge of the nose. When the Green stuff dried, I sanded it smooth, and commenced a full repaint of the head with Testors Acryl Gloss Green (for the helmet), Testors Model Masters Purple Pearl (for the goggles and stripe), Testors Model Masters Argent Silver (for the lenses in the goggles), and Testors Acryl Peach for the exposed portion of the lower face. When all the paint had dried, I gave the head two generous coats of Flat Clear. Next, since the plastic hoses that went from the shoulder guards to the neck guard had snapped, I needed to replace them. Since I did not want this to happen again, I decided to use two small pieces of electrical wire which I cut to an appropriate length. With the wire now cut to length, I drilled two small holes on either side of the body where the plastic hoses had been attached, and then glued the two pieces of wire into place. Lastly, I popped the modified head into place atop the figure's neck peg, and TA-DA...the Lexcorp Battlesuit!!! Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated. ![]() |
