To me, NECA's line of action figures based on Eastman & Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics has always been distinguished by three defining principles:

1) Sculpt based on the first appearance in the original TMNT comics
2) Paint inspired by comicbook ink artwork
3) High level of articulation

However, I've often found that most customs tend to forgo at least one of these in favor of the other two. Either the design is based on a later appearance, or they simply use an unaltered figure with a comicbook paint job, or the articulation is lacking, or someone just didn't have time for the ink style line work. In any case, I wanted my TMNT figures to reproduce the NECA style without sacrificing any of the traits that made the originals so incredible.

Casey Jones here is based on his very first appearance, not in the TMNT series proper, but in the Raphael one-shot comic where he was first introduced. While later appearances had him wearing jeans, fingerless gloves or hand wraps, and a red shirt, his introductory appearance had him wearing a tattered blue shirt, gray sweat pants, white sneakers, and nothing on his hands at all. I tried to duplicate his look as accurately as possible, while keeping as much articulation as the original base figures. Casey's parts are:

Head, bats, bag - Playmates '80s Casey Jones, bag and bat extended and resculpted
Arms, pelvis - WWE Create-A-Superstar figures, uncertain which
Upper torso, upper legs - DCUC Starman
Lower torso - ML Weapon X
Lower legs - LCBH Ann O'Brien, resculpted with sweat pants on calves
Hockey stick, golf clubs, field hockey stick - individually acquired online

Casey's points of articulation are:

Ball neck
Hinge and rotate "ball" shoulders
Hinge and rotate "ball" elbows
Rotate wrists
Rotate waist
Hinge and rotate "T" hips
Rotate thighs
Hinge knees
Rotate calves
Hinge ankles
