I got a few Sabretooth designs I want to make, but this is the last Wolverine based one for now. I think there are two or three designs for Sabretooth I really want to go through. I'll have to check. As I looked through Wolverine based characters, this one immediately jumped out at me. I remembered always loving the concept, and wanting to make him a few years ago. A robotic replica of Wolverine, created by Donald Pierce. And not even a robot was immune to Marvel turning villains into heroes as he ended up becoming an ally to Wolverine for a while. I liked the art that had Albert as a bit bulkier than Wolverine. So, while I made Romulus taller and bulkier, I stuck with the smaller Gladiator build for Albert. Keeps him slightly taller than the released Wolverine figures, while adding more bulk. Sculpted up everything onto the body, then cut down some Marauder swords for the claws. Head came from one of the old Wolverine Origins figures, then added some sculpt to it. Full repaint, and done!
Was just searching for customs of him the other day, but it was mostly Weskers from RE. This is when I came into comics, him and Elsie Dee hunting down Mr. Wogan.
Excellent work yet again. It's people like you that inspire him to customize (though I still let fear of failure hold me back).
Go for it! It's always intimidating at first. Once you finish a single figure, it gets a lot easier. I started with repaints for the longest. The only way to fail is to not try. So no worries! And thanks for the compliment!
Maaaaaaan, I totally forgot about this character. and I loved that run of Wolverine with Elsie Dee. I think I still have all those issues. Great looking piece.
