Seeing as the vintage He-Man & She-Ra figures are not completely cartoon accurate I wanted to make my Dyalamug figure in a similar style. This way he would fit in better with the look of the other vintage figures. To do this I tried to use as many parts from other vintage MOTU figures as possible.

His arms are from 2 vintage trap jaw figures which I repainted & attached some thin black wire to.

The dark blue piece above his face (which the arms are connected to) are from a vintage Multibot figure. As are his legs, & lower body. Some of these pieces were cut to fit. I also had to cut the arm sockets off the trap jaw figures & attach them to the upper torso of the Multibot figure so as his arms could be articulated.

The main part of his body is a babies Fisherprice block.

The oval part his face is attached to was cut from the lid of an aerosol can.

I drew his face using a digital art program then printed it onto self adhesive photographic paper & then stuck a layer of matt sticky back plastic film on top of that to prevent it from getting scratched.
I decided to make his face more orange than the actual cartoon character so as the figure would fit in more with the colour pallets of the vintage Modulok & Dragstor figures who both had this shade of orange in their designs. I also painted the part behind the horde logo dark blue for this same reason.

The horde logo above his face was sculpted using a product called ‘fixit sculpt’.

The back piece behind the horde logo was made up from 2 (2X8) lego blocks & the lights on his head were made from little clear Lego round pieces to which I painted the base of each one gold.

The entire figure was painted using Humbrol enamel paints.

His points of articulation are his arms, legs & waist (below his face).
