The 80's was a wonderful decade for blockbuster action movies but the decade also created some great "must see TV" series as well. One memorable serie that came out in that era which symbolized what the 80's were all about is Miami Vice. The movie Scarface and the tv serie Miami Vice put the city of miami and south beach on the map. Its flashy  lifestyle, eye catching neon vibrant colors, drugs, violence on the streets to go along with the beautiful palm trees and sunny beaches. Miami Vice is about two stylish undercover detectives Sonny Crockett (Don Johnson) and his partner Ricardo Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas). Both detectives risk their lives in stopping crime and drug cartels (mainly transportation and distribution of cocaine) in the city. The serie had a somewhat movie feel to it mainly because Michael Mann was involved with the screenplay and the great music soundtrack is from Jan Hammer. Miami Vice was one of a kind and inspired the Playstaion 2 game Grand Theft Auto Vice City with its Miami Vice and Scarface references.


As far as I know, only Mezco made the only Miami Vice figures in the market around 15 years ago. Here is my custom figure version in homage of those Mezco figures, Tv series and the decade of the 80's.


James "Sonny" Crockett

Head: ML Punisher with sculpted hair and sanded down jawline

Base:  ML Bruce Banner. Sanded down the shirt buttons

Lower Arms: ML Iron Fist with sculpted rolled up sleeves, Banner hands and Rolex watch is from fodder

Feet: sculpted sandal shoes

Silver Hand Gun is from Neca Terminator 2 and modified gun harness is from ML Nick Fury


Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs

Head:   DCUC Bronze Tiger with sculpted jheri curl hair-do with right diamond earring from fodder

Base:  ML Chameleon with sanded down wrists to expose pink dress shirt

Mini Shotgun is from Toybiz ML Bishop modified to make it shorter. Sunglasses and suitcase is from fodder

Finally painted these guys up in their stylish South Florida colors and they were done.
The tv serie Miami Vice was ahead of it time with its story drama, action and cinematography which changed the once sleepy and old age retirement city into the booming Miami we know today.
