To make this ‘Princess of Power’ style Cheetars I started off with a vintage Sweet Bee figure as a base. I removed Sweet Bee’s head so I could open the top part of her body which let me replace her right arm with one from a vintage Angella figure. I did this because the shape of Angella’s bracelet would work really well for Cheetara’s 2 white bracelets. Once I replaced her arm I then glued her body back together & also removed the paint from Angella’s bracelet. I then got some ‘fixit sculpt’ which I used to sculpt the top parts of Cheetara’s boots & the section around her new larger red jewel which I used for her cat logo, When the sculpt had set I then painted the entire figure using Humbrol enamel paints. For her cat logo I painted the cat symbol onto the red jewel with a really fine paint marker. Once it had dried I then painted over it with red glass paints. This gave her logo a really nice £D effect when the light hits it. Unfortunately I could not get a good photograph to show this effect. Once her body was completed I started work on her head. The Sweet Bee figure I used had really frizzy hair so I straightened her hair using the boiling water method. After that I painted her facial details. Once the paint was dry I then curled her hair using gardner's ‘soft twisty tie’ as bendy rollers. I then poured boiling water over her hair & waited for it to dry naturally. Once her hair had dried I then styled it & fixed it with a strong gel spray. At this stage I then painted her cheetah spots directly onto her hair with Humbrol enamel paints. To finish her off I made her staff from an old wire coat hanger & painted it yellow. ![]() |
