I used 2 figures to make this ‘Princess Of Power’ style Wonder Woman which were a vintage Catra figure & a vintage She-Ra figure. I started off by removing Catra’s head & splitting her upper body so I could remove her arms & replace them with the arms from the She-Ra figure. I then super glued her upper body back together. I wanted to use She-Ra’s arms as I thought the shape of her bracelets would work better for my Wonder Woman. I then repainted her body using Humbrol enamel paints. I liked the shape of Catra’s boots & wanted to use that in my Wonder Woman’s boot design so painted them in a way which combined the 2 different styles. Next I removed Catra’s Red jewel & replaced it with a gold one which fitted in better with Wonder Woman’s gold logo. & again the jewel helped give her that vintage POP feel. The little stars on Wonder Womans pants & bracelets were little craft peel-off stickers which I super glued into place. I then painted the center part of the ones on her bracelets with red glass paint. After her body was complete I started work on her skirt/belt. I got a vintage She-Ra belt & drew round it to make a template so as my Wonder Woman’s belt would be the correct size. I then redesigned the shape of the template to make it look more like Wonder Woman’s belt. At this point I got some gold self adhesive foil & stuck it onto some faux leather. I then used my template to cut out her belt from the fabric. Once her belt was cut out I then got some gold holographic tape & cut a diamond shape out of it & stuck that to the front of her belt as I felt this would also help tie her in with the look of the other vintage She-Ra figures. Once the belt part was done I started work on the skirt. Her skirt was made from 2 layers of tulle ribbon, the top layer is blue & the bottom layer is silver. Each layer was hand stitched onto the belt using yellow thread. At this point I super glued some more silver stars to the silver layer of her skirt which means they show through onto the blue layer. Unfortunately you cannot really see these stars in the photos but they show up a lot better in real life. I finished off the belt part by attaching 2 popper buttons which I got from an old She-Ra skirt. Finally I started work on her head. I painted her eyes & eye shadow pale blue & styled her hair using the boiling water method. I them made her tiara the same way I made her belt but instead of using holographic tape I used another one of those little silver stars for the front & painted the center of it with red glass paint. I then stitched black elastic to the back of her tiara so as it would fit in place nicely & you would not be able to see the black through her hair. To finish her off I made a lasso from gold elastic. ![]() |
