Not posted in a couple of months as I've been working hard experimenting to refine/define rules, species and cultures for my little universe and here's one of the first results. To do this I of course had to journey to the Himalayas to practice with a group of Monks devoted to the spiritual side of action Figure customsing. So I'm back in the man cave and here we go. Over the coming months look out for more Asari customs, Protoss/Sangheili hybrids and many more, from central character creations down to foot soldiers. Also quick thanks to you all on here, I wasn't going to post anything for a little longer but damn nab it you're all so inspiring and I want to get involved again!

So back to business. One of the first Races I wanted to construct is based on if not entirely pilfered from the Mass Efffect universe: the Asari. If you're not aware of them and you're a fan of sci fi look them up, awesome concept!

This first figure is a central character amongst the allied Government of good guys (no official name yet lol.) She is Councellor Trea.

The figure is the result of three Toys meeting at extreme speed, made with the usual tools: acrylic paints, epoxy resin, milliput and my beloved dremel. Although I am sad to report my first dremel finally copped it earlier this year but luckily I'm the kind of loser who has spares of important tools. After a period of mourning I began cracking on with the new one.

So yes back to business. The lower body is from the DC Collectibles Arkham Knight Catwoman, the upper thorax from the DC Direct Elseworlds Supergirl. I took the lower arms from the aforementioned Catwoman and transplanted them onto the new upper body to allow the extra articulation. I'm still undecided about whether to equip her with some kind of shawl, cape or jet pack to hide the ballpoint sockets for the wings of the original supergirl figure. Looking at it though I don't mind them as being a feature of the armour. I'll ponder it a bit longer and update should I decide.

The head is from a DC Collectibles designer series Wonder Woman. The 'squid hair' crest is made out of milliput. I trialled all sorts of different ways to create the look, including having the design come further down the neck. I tried latex and all sorts but for the purposes of articulation and sturdiness Milliput proved the best.

For any mass effect purists though you many notice the Asari Gamora figure I have in the works pictured with Trea and she's of course green skinned. I decided I wanted to branch out from the typical blue to light purple skin tones to allow a little more freedom but also tie is as a little extra detail of their biological lineage. I'll explain more once the Gamora is up.
