It ia a wire clothes hanger cut and bent into shape. I like the triangle base shape but my friend does the circle base but thats a lot more work. I also I file the tips too so there are no sharp edges that would scratch the paint. There are tons of youtube videos if you want a visual reference.
Most figures you can stick the tip into a hip, shoulder gap or the peg hole on the bottom of the foot.
