Some figures are great and require no alteration or only a slight paint job, others require lots of change and whilst TOBIZ did a wonderful job I am a perfectionist and I like detail and realism. Gandalf consists of the better sculpt of the Light up Staff head, the body of a Balrog Battle Gandalf, the Glamdring and it's sheath from Gandalf the White repainted and sculpted on the end of the scabbard the metal part, the scarf from the Hobbit version dry brushed silver and the staff can obviously be swapped out from the various ones he uses in the films. The Hat was repainted and remodelled to fit on and not fall off as it has a tendancy to do so. Aragorn is a super articulated Strider with a better scabbard and ranger sword and I stuck on the utility knife sheath that comes with the Helms Deep and council of Elrond Aragorn's randomly onto his swords scabbard and added the Elven Dagger onto the back of his belt. His head comes from a Helms Deep Aragorn head varient that has a better skin tone and facial detail. Then he has a a quiver which was his sealed one hollowed out and made usable to hold arrows. I also made removable Vambraces that he gets from Boromir, just carved out some spare Boromir arms, also he has Anduril ready to swap out with his regular sword as it has no scabbard when Aragorn carries it. Legolas is a Mirkwood Legolas figure made shorter and with a head and hand swap and better arrows from the generic Legolas. Then when he leave Lothlorien he is a Legolas on Horseback figure with a Leg swap from the Rohan armour Legolas. Both have been made shorter in the legs to stand a etter height with the felloship as they made him way too tall. Bear in mind some of my pictures make him ook super taller but it's jsut the ground I'm workign on being uneven, same with Aragorn in one shot. Boromir is basically a repaint and swapped out sword and added the dagger and I had a spare one so I have 3 holes in the spare's torso for arrows to stick in and a horn split in two. Gimli has been sorted. As any of you who own a Gimli know he has limited articulation and detail is lacking in paint and attention. Gimli's eye's are brown not blue, his outfit is a red rust colour not brown and he only had 1 pouch for the 5 axes he carries in the Triology. So I gave him the obvious repaint, swapped out his elbows with the double jointed ones from the Coronation Gimli and same with the legs as I replaced the waist on the Gimli with the one from that figure making his legs super articulated, though the boots are from the regular Gimli as they are the correct size. I added 3 extra pouches, 1 on the back for his Twin headed axe found in Moria (rumoured to be Durin's Axe) and 2 on his right side for his second throwing axe and his smaller axe which is only available from the Council of Elrond: Gimli's figure. I shortened this axe to allow it to fit in his pouch and not to be so long as it isn't as long as it was made. Lastly I used a sleeping roll from Aragorn made it smaller and painted it the bluish purple it is for Gimli. Frodo had his arms made super articulated and his feet swapped out to bend at the ankle, same for same. I got these arms from the super articulated figure and honestly wasn't impressed with the super articulated figures and the faces on regular figures were often better in detail. Both Sam and Frodo have backpacks taken from their plastic cloaked counterparts that I added straps on from Aragorn's sleeping roll or from bits of capes cut finely. Also using a piece of string I have made Sam's pot and frying pan loose but stay on and removable for use as a weapon as he does in Balin's Tomb. Merry and Pippin are basically the same as I don't feel a need to change them that much, though Pippin's head was swapped with the Gondor armour one as I prefer that likeness. Bill the Pony is the unofficial 10th member of the Fellowship that didn't get a figure. I made him from a Robin Hood Guy of Gisborne horse that was just white and I repainted him and added all the heavy load he carries. As usual I did loads of photo's and made a set funnily enough. I dug a trench, put some tarpaulin in then filled it with water and made sand banks then added tree scenery and rock's etc. I did a night and day shoot for extended scenes and the more familiar ones. Hope you like my Fellowship, improving the detail articulation and having them all use their accesories used in the films and adding Bill to the group! Has an chance to do some caradhras images.
