Another revisitation from my early figures is Psylocke this time. I used the released Psylocke base for her dainty english frame and to make her more in keeping with her first costume appearence in X-Men #213 at the end of the Mutant Massacre. While baloons look ok for jacket sleeves, they didn't have enough volume to carry off the puffy great things part of this outfit. I scupted the sleeves, hair, legs, jewels smoothed the pants. I took onboard the crit from last time and did the hair at the back from Darice to retain articulation and did a better job of the arm sashes. Finally I made her original trademark psychic butterfly effect with hot glue and red ink. There's a split on the nose so it clips on and the eye holes were removed so you can see Betsys peepers. I'm much happier with this version :)
Thanks guys! Mutant Massacre was my second ever graphic novel and Psylocke on the last page made me laugh as her first uniform was basically the nightie she fought Sabretooth in I did the hot glue on a glass surface the heated it for 5 seconds wit a hairdryer to get the curve. Don't blow dry too much though as my first one melted onto her face!
Cool custom, very nostalgic specially I grew up on these characters. Ofcourse we all love the current Psylocke costume...specially us men. This just brings us back to the time where Jim Lee is just finding his mojo... Great custom man.
Did you use hot glue right on the figure and peel it off or did you use it on a flat surface? Just wondering be cause I'm looking to use a similar effect for the figure I'm making. Great figure by the way!!!
