Hi, guys ! It's been quite a while, since my last "release". I'm a proud dad, of an adorable son, since nine weeks, so....priorities shifted a liiiitle bit. ;-) That's why I will try to finish some last projects (ten figures or so...) to reduce my inventory of base-figures, spare parts and fodder, before the colors dry out, hopefully. Let's see, if I can come up with some decent figures, by using that material only.... No matter if it's in the club; at a concert, or on the pelennor battlefield... nothing worse, than the beat drops out ! ;-) Since I'm a drummer myself, I wanted to enforce my mordorian army by an orc drummer. Professional honor demanded to create a decent drum, that actually works, not just looks orcish-cool. So the real leather-head get's it's tension by the hoop, which is tightend by the cords. So it makes a sound actually...surprisingly not not an intimidating battle-drum-sound, haha ! So, here's Kershhâg, the battle-drummer Recipe : Base : Toybiz Dungeons of Isengard Orc captain. Head : sculpted over a Gothmog-head; specials : Tattoo over left eye and visible muscles/sinews due to a cheek-injury. Shin-/Hip-Armor and chain-loincloth from Gothmog, too. Body-armor: repainted battle troll shoulder armor. Right shoulder-pad : repainted from a McFarlane viking age berserker Repainted Fur-stola from Grishnak Drum-shell: Menthos-box (cut out tooth-segments and sculpted an uneven surface and the middle beading. Drum head : real, super-thin leather. Drum-Stick (Bone) Fodder, extended it's length with sculpy. Banner : Black linen; Logo : painted with white permanent marker and red citadel color. Banner-poles : Woodsticks (the right one is additionally attached to the fur stola (with a brass-ring) Belt/straps : fake leather Back-skirt : Haradrim archer I used Citadel colors I hope you enjoy this fat backbeat-buddy, as much as I do. Greetings from Bavaria, Germany ! ![]() |

I'm not complaining ! It's just wonderful caring for and spending time with this little guy !
All the best !
You know that too, for sure : some parts fit like a glove
Many Thanks though !
Take care !
CHEERS !
like that one ! ...haha, though I have to keep up commenting your work (I will!), I absolutely enjoy watching your output of excellent dwarfs. ...Me, "the orc guy" has a dwarf in the swing, too ! Believe it or not !
...but I guess I should release another orc first, haha !
Regards !
It's always fun to do something different, challenging or completely random and the films provide so much. Weta did an outstanding job developing the look of the different cultures through both film trilogies and they all felt very in place. As much as I love Guillermo Del Toro, I was a little relieved when he stepped down from making the Hobbit Films and Peter Jackson came fully back into the fold not just as a writer/ producer as he was when Guillermo was involved. I feel as if that would have ended up lookign too out there and not linked to the LOTR films in culture design etc etc.
Yeah I try to comment on everything but ocasionally we miss one or something haha. I'm going to retake a lot of of my older custom photos as I was unhappy with the quality and some only have 3 pictures and we get 4 now.
Your little drummerboy rocks!!! He has a officail release look about him!!!!! (bring that beat back)
Cheers !
