Got a couple of days off from work around New year's so I've just spent all of it on this custom. A friend of mine asked me to do it for him since he became a fan of the character recently. I was excited to do the Shadow again because I wanted to improve on my first one and wanted to try a new design. This one is based on the appearance of the character from the Batman/The shadow miniseries designed by Riley Rossmo. It's a cool reimagining of the character but Rossmo's style is quite stylised so I had to make some compromises.
First I've made the hat which I think turned out much better than the one I've made for Sandman, mainly because this time I've used faux leather and the rim is double layered with a tin wire in between at the front to keep the shape. At the same time I've painted the hair and eyebrows and sanded down some details around the neck and shoulders that were in the way.
Since in the comic it looks like he is wearing a leather coat I've used the same faux leather for the coat, no holsters tho, he doesn't have any in the series, he just pulls out the guns from nowhere but I've put two holsters so the pistols can be stored there, just in case (the pistols are from a Gotham select Zsasz figure btw). Buttons are glued on dark brown faux leather.
The cape is made of a stretchy fabric, it had a nicer texture than the plain one I've used before. To be able to pose it dynamically I've put in an 18 gauge aluminium wire this time instead of the previous 16 gauge one, much softer and easier to handle. The cape is sewn and glued to the coat at certain points along with the scarf so it will look more similar to Rossmo's design. The scarf is also from the same stretchy fabric so it will sit better on the head and neck, one part of the scarf is wired the other just hangs at the back (this was the best way to emulate the comicbook look).
My only regret is not sewing the bottom edge of the scarf but I wanted it to sit as tight as possible on the shoulders and I was fiddling with it for hours to get it right as it is.
Overall I think I've managed to improve on my first custom and my friend likes it too. Hope you guys like it as well, let me know what you think!

that's one thing I didn't feel confident approaching, maybe one day I will redo my first Shadow and attempt a nose sculpt, although for me Sean Pertwee's nose works just fine.

Thank you! I really like that movie that's what made me a shadow fan when I was a kid but those toys don't really represent the characters imho. Still for nostalgic reasons they must be cool.

Looks amazing! The entire outfit turned out really well, looks very clean and professionally made. I'm totally using the wire in the hat idea, that's just genius.

Thank you very much. Just make sure the wire is thin. Not sure about the exact gauge I got some leftover wire from some packaging and it's still a bit visible through the leather but only if you really look.
