I always try to find base parts that will eliminate as much paint rub as possible. It took some creativity, but it worked out here. I had to use the barbell from Hobgoblin to link the Beetle legs, which was a bit of a pain in the ass. I modified the torso to close around Darkhawk's shoulder pads, this way the shoulder pads can still rotate and preserve that upward mobility. For his Helmet, my original plan was to use a LCBH Judge Death, but I didn't love the way it was sitting over Captain Universe's head. So I instead sculpted it after gaining some confidence from sculpting the belt. The belt took me a few tries to figure out, but I'm happy with the way it came out. The rest of the harness is Constrictor's tendrils. I think, after completing this project I'll upgrade myself from "I can't sculpt" to "I can't sculpt that well." Now if I can figure out the photography portion of this.... Here's a quick breakdown of the recipe: Head: Captain Universe Torso: Hobgoblin Abs: Hobgoblin Shoulder Pads: Darkhawk Arms: Hydra Agent Glove Overlays: Shatterstar Hands: Hobgoblin Crotch: Hobgoblin Legs: Beetle Boots: Shatterstar Feet: Shatterstar ![]() |
