I don't think anyone needs an introduction to Zorro or why he is awesome.
I wanted to do a custom of him ever since I've decided (not that long ago) that I will recreate my favourite pulp heroes but I wasn't sure what head sculpt should I use. But the WWE Elite Tyler Bate figure came out recently and I think he has that roguish smile Zorro needs to have and also a moustache! I think in hindsight I should have sanded down his muscles to make him less bulky but overall it was a pretty good fit. Only had to replace the hands with ML Superior Spider-man hands to hold the weapons better (wwe hands have the worst plugs ever btw).
Speaking of weapons, the sword is built on a Kylo lightsaber handle with random gunpla parts glued, tweaked and painted and the whip is a shoelace with a 18 gauge bendy wire pushed through and black thread fastened around it to make it less messy, with some faux leather at the end.
Hat, belt, gloves, mask and holster made of faux leather. This time the hat is glued instead of sewn, it was just easier this way. Boots are fully covered in leather. The costume is made from stretchy lycra fabric, cape is non stretchy black cotton with 18 gauge bendy wire in the lining.
I wanted to get a horse for Zorro since Tornado is an essential part of the character and stumbled upon a discounted 3 pack in B&M just the other day that had a black, brown and a white horse in it, just about the right size. The brown one will be given away but the white will be serving my Phantom custom as Hero pretty soon.
Took off the original plastic saddle and reins and put new, deep brown faux leather ones on it with a stirrup made of 16 gauge bendy wire.
Overall I'm happy with the outcome but learned a lot again which hopefully will make my next custom better. Hope you guys like it, let me know what you think if you have a second!
