Decided to make this custom because the first Rachel we bought somehow broke at the waist and her legs were all wiggly so she couldn't even stand. So we bought a second Rachel and guess what? Same thing happened.
Kinda got tired of waiting for hasbro to make a new one and plus I really like this costume of hers so we had to fix her. First we had to connect her upper half with the Slave Princess Leia lower half which was not working at all at first. Ended up having to shave down some of the abdomen on the Slave Leia body to make it fit together and not look too long. The Slave Leia crotch was altered so that the legs could go closer. Next, Rachel's original arms were cut at the sleeves and replaced with toy biz Elektra arms that were treated with acetone to remove the paint. The Elektra lower arms were cut off to attach the Hasbro Kitty gloves and hands. The scariest part though was cutting off the Slave Leia lower legs to attach the Jim Lee Jean's lower legs. It was scary because we had to keep them even, and while making sure she measured up to a certain height we also had to make sure they were proportionate to her. Not much was done to her face, just her lips were repainted and eyelashes were added. It took awhile to find the right fabrics and come up with the right measurements but eventually we were able to make her a cloth skirt using a sewing machine. Probably one of our most favorite customs we ever did. So happy with the outcome! She can do a whole lot more than she ever could before.

Also just to add, we were really worried that Rachel's orange skin tone on her neck and chest wouldn't match the rest of the body, but during one of our failed attempts to connect her upper half with the Slave Leia body we put Rachel's upper chest into boiling water that was heated on the stove and somehow her skin tone became lighter and it all ended up working out so we didn't have to paint anything.

she can actually sit now!

Nice! Yeah the articulation on the original figure was horrible.

3rd pic could have been taken at a slightly more tasteful angle, perhaps not exposing how saddle-sore she appears to be . However, definitely a vast improvement on the original, a great repair job and an excellent use of fabric. Well done!
