Month ago, I‘ve had bought a few figures, which had been displayed on a window board and got the „deluxe UV-treatment“, for many years. So the plastic of the new born Lurtz and the „normal“ Lurtz, (the bow missing) had been faded out, by sunlight. Cheap, base material. So I decided to recycle and merge both, to create a random, though individual Uruk Hai-scout. First and foremost, because I always wanted, to try to recreate such a bow, but without the strange double handle and the arrow-holder.

To my surprise, the „Bow-Lurtz“, broke into many pieces, as I held it in hand, heating up the head, to remove it. The neck; the peg of the hip-rotation; the part, where it is cased, in the upper body and the whole „pants“-part itself, broke all at once !

The sunlight, plus time, had caused serious embrittlement on some parts, obviously.
So I had to fix that first.
It was really tricky to re-connect upper- and lower-body, while keeping the hip-rotation. The head is connected to the neck, by magnets.

I cut off the jaw and nose of the new born L. and resculpted it, including oral-cavity; tongue...

The bow is completely built from scratch (welding-wire; sculpy; plastic; waxed thread)

The scout-helmet is scratch-built too. Made from an old rubber-glove-thumb; real metal and real stitching.

Furthermore I had a damaged „Shagrath“-shield, in my fodder-box. The clips on the flipside had been broken off.
I’ve grinded down their socles ; added sculpted handle and faux-leather straps, with a sculpted buckle. The buckle of the belt, to mount the shield on the body, is fully functional.

Torch : hot glue over a piece of lance-pole of a Battle cry-Uruk Hai.
Sword : fodder

90% repaint of the figure.
