So as with the USM I just posted, I kind of wanted a Kaine to go along with my Spider-Man shelf. I likely would have settled for his Scarlet Spider design... but a Kaine SS had come out just before the new Pizza Spider-Man buck, and with him "dead" at the time (it was pretty telegraphed he'd be returning, but even so) I didn't see a new figure happening for a few years at least. Plus... while I LIKE the Scarlet Kaine look, I don't really feel it represents Kaine too well. That said, the 90s version is far, FAR worse, so I opted instead to blend the two designs together... create a Kaine that FELT more like the 90s version, a figure with a bit more bulk than Peter but not huge like 90s Kaine or Venom.

Originally I had attempted to commission the design from another customizer, but that's a long story that did not end well. I had basically given up on it, especially with Kaine being back and with a new figure on the horizon... but I had gotten a Spider-UK figure for the Sandman BAF, and the more I stared at it... the more I realized the buck was perfect for what I'd been intending to do for Kaine.

I repainted the body to suit my needs, sculpted mask details on a Thor head from the Hulk BaF wave (It's the same head a the Sentry release) and used my experience with my USM custom to use custom decals for the Spider-logos on Kaine's chest and back.
