Hey all, I haven’t posted anything in a while not because I’m not making anything but because I have several projects going at once and been too busy to work on them, but this one was a much smaller, easier and manageable task to complete that only took a few days but I’ve been working out how to do it for half a year. So here is my Thrain custom in Dol Guldor from the extended DOS scenes. The bass body is an Orc Frodo torso with lower Gondor Pippin Legs, Balrog Battle Gandalf head and Super articulated Sméagol for the arms and legs but Frodo toes. Thrain has an emaciated look so Gollum parts were perfect for that but the limbs were too long so I shortened them in places including the hand length. I sculpted the clothes or rags, but used Aragorn Tunic parts for the Lower robe parts and sculpted a belt across the waist. I used a little bit of Eomer left over hair just the bottom part and glued at the bottom then sculpted massive layers of hair and the head was reshaped as well as a nose job had to be done. I also removed the upper part of his finger as he has that cut off by Azog during the battle at Moria where the last of the seven dwarves rings of power was lost. For his height I looked up the actors actual height which is the same as Martin Freeman’s and even though he is a dwarf he is a hunchback so I did sculpt one to look right. I’m really happy with how he has come out and I managed to paint the tattoos and a nice blood splatter on one side of his head and dirty him up. I’ve taken quite a few pics but for now this will be the only 4. Hope you like him! Please wait... |
