Here's a Marvel Legend I've really wanted for a very long time, but I figure Hasbro will never make him. So I determined it was up to me if I ever wanted him on my shelf. Couple that with the fact we're getting so many cool Fantastic Four-related figures and I knew the time was right to make this guy. I really loved the Hate-Monger's first appearance in Fantastic Four #21, which is why I knew I had to make him the alternate head, too. I was inspired to finally make this guy after getting a Son of Batman figure for cheap at Ollie's, feeling his torch would be a perfect for the character. It was only after getting him that I thought the head would work for his villainous unmasked head, too. Recipe: Masked head: Baron Zemo (ToyBiz, Mojo Series) Torso, bracelets: Cobra Arms and legs: Black Knight Shoulder balls: Karl Mordo Boots: Stealth Suit Captain America (Mandroid/Winter Soldier Series) Hands: Netflix Punisher (Man-Thing series) Skirt, holster, and belt overlay: Ronan Series Dr. Doom Hitler Head and torch: DC Multiverse Son of Batman Gun: Bullseye and X-Men Costume Deadpool Blast Effect: Invincible Iron Man (Okoye/Black Panther Series) I shaved down Zemo's crown and sculpted Milluput onto it for the pointed hood look; I Dremmeled the hole in the head to better fit the Cobra body. I then used an X-Acto knife to cut and trim Dr. Doom's skirt piece. I resculpted the belt buckle so it wasn't a giant letter "D". I shaved down the points on Cobra's bracelets so they were smooth. I heated and swapped movie Cap's boots onto Black Knight's legs. I went with Mordo's shoulder balls for a fabric look and trimmed the pegs down so they would fit properly in the Cobra torso. I then sculpted the bottoms of the sleeves onto Black Knight's biceps. I took the bottom cylinder from X-Men Costume Deadpool's gun with some help from the X-Acto and drilled a hole to fit and glue Bullseye's gun barrel into. I drilled a hole into the front of barrel of the new gun for the blast effect to fit in. I sculpted hair on the Son of Batman head and repainted it, complete with mustache and a black wash over the brown hair; the head also was Dremmeled to fit the body. I gave the scaly arms and legs a dark blue wash, which I really, really like. I thought it looked really comic accurate and it gave the figure a nice look to him. I mixed and painted the costume a light purple with pink for the trim. I repainted the holster and belt a new brown so they would match (the skirt piece was cast in green, which showed after modding the belt buckle). I then gave him the torch and voila, he was done and ready to give the Fantastic Four a heaping helping of trouble! ![]() |
