Bullseye, born as Lester Benjamin Poindexter, grew up in the Bronx, where he lived with his brother and his abusive father. His brother's main form of recreation was playing with rifles, which led Bullseye to become an expert shooter. When he was 10 years old, his brother started a fire in his house in an unsuccessful attempt to kill his father. Soon after, Bullseye was placed in a foster home, and became a baseball player in high school. Bullseye was an extremely talented pitcher, and he was offered a scholarship, but instead chose to enter the minor leagues. After three games, he was summoned to play an exhausted Major League game. He had not taken a hit in the whole game, and at the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs, he got bored and asked the coach to take him out of the game. The coach refused, and insisted that the game be over. The batter of the opposing team mocked him, accusing him of cowardice. Bullseye threw the ball at his head, killing him. When the ball hit, he only said one word: "Bullseye." He was excluded from professional baseball and convicted of involuntary manslaughter. This is a summary of a previous origin story from Elektra # 2, which shows Bullseye growing up as a below average student in a trailer park with an alcoholic and physically abusive parent. In this version of the events, Bullseye simulates the suicide of his father with a pistol fired by a toy arrow. None or all of the elements of this version can be true, as it describes his father as possibly recovering from a recent divorce, which fits perfectly with the mockery of Daredevil in his confrontation during the story of "Hardcore." His cold attitude and unique abilities, however, meant that subsequent recruitment by the National Security Agency as a murderer was inevitable, and he was soon assigned to train Contras in Nicaragua. However, when he arrived, he claimed that he had already planned to leave the NSA. He had planned to steal the blind Cons and flee, but he soon discovered that they were desperately poor. Bullseye made the most of the situation: seven hours after being informed of his poverty, he had directed the Contras to take a landing strip that the Colombian cocaine smugglers were using as a parking area before moving to the States. United. Without the use of the airfield, the smugglers could not send new shipments. Bullseye established Paolo, his unfortunate Nicaraguan translator, as the leader of the new force that controls the airfield, and spread the word. However, Paolo was no more than a patsy. Bullseye planned to invite several heads of organized crime to the airfield to negotiate a new agreement with him as the alleged "right hand" of Paolo. He would take his money and disappear, presumably leaving Paolo to suffer the wrath of the mafia, the Russian mafia, Yakuza and various other criminal elements. However, before the agreement could be finalized, the Punisher (Frank Castle) arrived. Castle killed all organized crime leaders in a burst of fire that Bullseye barely escaped. The two met in a fierce battle in which Bullseye could hurt Punisher and evade or defuse several of his weapons. The target then used some reddened mud to paint a porthole on his forehead, mocking Castle's inability to hit him. The fight ended when the Drug Control Administration agents arrived, and the Punisher fled. Bullseye surrendered to DEA agents and was soon assigned to infiltrate Kingpin's criminal empire. He obtained a disguise, fled once more and became one of the most dangerous assassins in the world. All of the above information is provided by Bullseye during a subsequent interrogation by United States intelligence. Just before escaping from custody, Bullseye confesses that he invented part or all of his story to have fun; For example, he states that it was really he who started the fire that burned his childhood home. All the capture was an assassin's plan to access the prison where his father is detained. Bullseye finally takes revenge on his father, leaving him to burn while the security systems of the prison burn everything inside. ![]() |
