Vizi-tor, benevolent traveler to Eternia. I'm not really into creating characters but the WWE Mutant series had a cool version of the wrestler Stardust that has some traditional looking alien parts mixed with wrestler parts. Like my Zombie custom using Stone Cold Steve Austin, I wanted more articulation and less of a wrestler theme. This time I decided to use a MOTUC base. I chose Icarius because I thought mixing the Alien parts with a space suit would be cool, and also because he's dirt cheap on the seconardy market. Mutant Stardust is too, which made this a very affordable custom, and also pretty quick. First I painted Icarius's neck black to cover the only flesh tone on the figure. Then I spliced the hands and feet onto Icarius. The shins no longer have a cut joint but the hands gain articulation. I then sculpted and painted the shin guards to match the wrists. I also removed the black star from the alien head with acetone, but left a little underneath the eyes so that it would show through when the lights are off. That's right the alien parts glow in the dark! Again I have to give a shout out to Mattel for having cool ideas and parts in their random goofy wrestling sub themes. Now I have a classic looking alien to add to my Masters of the Universe collection. If you think I missed an opportunity by not using different parts or you have a suggestion to make this figure better I would love to hear it. Thanks for checking it out. ![]() |
