this is moneeeeeeeeyyyyyyy! OMG!

just received this Dr. Doom figure. It is one of the most stunningly original custom figures I have ever seen. Artist has taken the classic Dr. Doom look (right down to the sidearm holstered hand gun on his belt) and amped it up to look deadly dangerous. This is the DEFINITIVE Dr. Doom figure!! The face mask is the most classic version and works perfectly under that wired hooded cape with metal neck clearly visible. The wired cape is a masterstroke idea for custom figures. As is the Mego-retro use of fabric clothing. The cape & hood are infinitely posable to dramatic effect. Just posing the cape around him gives him presence & attitude. I also have to compliment the use of fabrics. The hooded cape appears to be a slightly darker shade than his tunic. Which again really works well. The leather buckled belt and cape discs (which he has double chained)are ideal to evoke the classic Doom look. The Ultron body with Armored Batman limbs is the perfect choice. When placed with Walgreens Fantastic Four, this Doom instantly looks like he could best them. Imposing, regal, full of vengeance and menacingly conniving. This is Doom as he really SHOULD be!!! All of the other Legends versions really lack the bulk & weight of this one. He needed the bulked up battle armor to look really deadly. By including the Armored Batman limbs, it takes away that medieval knight's suit of armor look and replaces it with a more modern battle armor appearance that heightens his threat level. He's no longer a quaint seething man in armor. He's now a fully weaponized assailant ready for battle. The figure came with 3 sets of hands for added gestured posing.

He really is one of the most ideally realized perfect versions of character that any fan could want. EVERY choice made to upgrade and improve on such a well known look without losing any of the more than 50 years old classic vision of the character, was well taken. Truly one of the most impressive custom figures I have ever seen. If there were a Hall of Fame for capturing the most ideal version of a character in custom figure form,.. this Dr. Doom would be in it.

I also have to mention the degree of pride and presentation that was given this figure. The artist obviously knew it was a singular gem and went all out to present it as such. It arrived in a specialized coffin box with an original charcoal etching portrait of Doom's head signed & dated by the artist with my name on it. The figure was cushioned in a heavy foam bed inside. It was the most extravagant presentation of a custom figure I have ever received. It was like he knew I had a special long time affinity for this character.

Thanks! He was originally a commission. Unfortunately, the client had to back out at the last minute, which is totally OK. He wanted Doom large and imposing similar to his appearance in the Marvel vs Capcom arcade game.
