This scratch-built Tie Advanced X-1 Fighter dimensions are 23 x 33 x 35 cm (cca 9´x 13,2´x 14´). It is in scale with my previous Tie Fighter. It took me more than four months to finish this model, but I didn´t have time to work on it every day. As always I used cardboard, plastic, modeling clay and foam. Wings: I used a big cardboard from an old TV box. The stripes of the solar energy collectors are made of plastic net - it makes the square pattern similar to the studio model. I used the plastic for the edges. The structure relief is made of different things you can find at home. Sphere / main hull: I used a polystyrene foam sphere (12 cm) and transparent yoghurt cap. The structure relief is made of plastic, thick paper and modeling clay. Under the cockpit, there is a printed photo of Darth Vader. For the two laser cannons I used the screw caps of the superglue. The main hull is connected with the wings through a roll from the kitchen wipes. You can also see some pictures I took during the construction. ![]() |
