A few months ago, my Wal*Mart put the Biker Widow figures on clearance, and the one I used for this custom was only $9 (the other I got a few weeks before that was $14, which isn't bad, either)!

Anywho, I'd been wondering what to do with these two extra Biker Widows. One I'm going to keep as Black Widow, but with the Vintage Widow's belt and wrist blasters. For this one I started doing some digging, and during this search, the Kingpin BAF Series went up for preorder. It reminded me that I planned to make the modern Black Cat figure into an Ana Kravinoff figure when she gets here. You see, "Grim Hunt" is one of my most favorite Spider-Man stories in recent years, and remembering to make Ana got me thinking about those extra Biker Widows; and then it hit me! I could make Ana's mother, and Kraven's wife, Sasha! With a few tweaks, I could make the character very quickly with only a few minor alterations.

Recipe:

Head: Wasp (Ant-Man/Movie Ultron BAF Series)
Body: Legendary Rider Black Widow
Belt: Magik (Walgreens exclusive)
Knife: ToyBiz Spider-Man Classics Kraven the Hunter

I also ended up having to buy an extra Magik because my first one had two left upper thighs and I thus ended up with the defect figure as fodder. I had been looking at reference art for Sasha and discovered she wore a belt very much like Magik. For the head, I used an extra Wasp head I'd acquired a few months ago in a trade with StarkResilient (major thanks, my friend!).

I boiled and popped the upper torso off. I painted the lower torso flat black to hide the painted on Black Widow belt (talk about lame). I used a hair dryer to reheat the upper torso and popped it back on the lower torso. I used more heat to remove the Black Widow collar. I then used a toothpick to sculpt a fur collar with some Milliput. Once the Milliput settled and dried, I painted the fur collar white and gave it a grey paint wash. I painted the neck and head matching skin tones and then painted the hair a flat black, as well. To top it all off, I gave her one of her husband's knives; now if only they'd make a Mattie Franklin figure to go with her. Oh well!

This was a super quick and easy custom to make, and I always love being able to make more Spider-Man villains for the collection; she'll fit in nicely with the Rhino Series Kraven we got a few years ago. I was tempted to give her the huge hand print from where Spider-Man tore her skin off, but didn't want her always looking like that on the shelf. Hmm, might have to make that as an alternate head sometime, though...
