As far as figures of the CW Flash TV series go there are only two affordable options, that being the 7 inch dc collectables version or the 6 inch multiverse version. Unfortunately for those of us who collect mainly 6 inch figures the multiverse version isn't great, the articulation is awful and the likeness to Grant Gustin just isn't there. So for this piece I wanted the visual appeal of the 7 inch version but at a smaller scale to the multiverse version so it would fit in with my multiverse 90's Flash and my Figuarts Justice League Flash. And instead of either being in scale and looking dreadful or looking great but being too tall I decided to combine them by taking the multiverse flash and sawing the figure in half just under the chest. Connecting it to the upper torso of the 7 inch version with a ball joint (tidying it up by adding a little milliput to make it look smoother) so there is now an ab crunch. I replaced the feet by removing them from the top of the boot down and glued on the boots from the 7 inch version on instead for the extra detail and the ankle pivot. Other changes I made were too the mask, specifically the gap where you can see the mouth, as the original sculpt still used the early season 1 mask which had a much wider space from ear to ear. Following this I repainted the majority of the suit to make it look brighter and so the kit-bashed pieces looked more natural against each other. ![]() |
