Part of the plot of Star Trek Beyond involves the discovery of the lost starship, the USS Franklin, which went missing nearly 100 years before the events of the film. During the crew’s attempt to reconnect after being stranded on the planet Altamid, Spock is injured and must spend the last part of the film in a 22nd Century Starfleet uniform.
