Sadly the console RPG is all about dead thanks to FPS games being incorporated. I agree the PC and handhelds are where the old school RPGs and turn based ones are.

If you're into D&D then PC is your best bet, honestly. There are several AD&D games for the PC, such as Baldur's Gate I and II, Icewind Dale I and II, Torment and Neverwinter Nights. Arcanum is also great and made in a similar style, though it isn't actually an AD&D game. They're older games, but they're still pretty awesome.

I don't think any of the current generation of consoles really offer that kind of game play. I remember there being some Baldur's Gate run on Ps2, but never looked into it. Fable I and II, Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Arkham City/Asylum(more action and detective-y, but still has some RPG elements, kinda) are really great modern RPGs that are multi-platform (including PC) that may strike your interest if you want something newer.

The Super nintendo had a ton of them if you're into retro. The genesis had a few good ones including some strategy/RPG and a Shadowrun game. Xbox and 360 don't have much old school style. Sadly turn based RPGs are a dying thing in the US other than some on the PC.

If anyone is on the hedge about it's release tomorrow, pick it up!

It's seriously a good game. They incorporated great elements of the Arkham series, and the Web Rush mode is just amazing. I've been playing this all weekend, and have a hard time putting it down....[See More]

I rented the game and actually enjoyed it quite a lot. It was pretty linear and wish it had more content but it was a fun experience. The game gives you the entire city to run around in but there it can get repetative because you get pretty much the same type of side missions (thug stealing a purse, catch a guy in a car, etc...) and the story missions are simple enough, go here through a one way path and fight the enemies and fight a boss. The mechanics are very similar to Arkham City and at times you it feels like they just slapped Spider-Man in Batmans boots (but just not quite and fun as Batman lol).

Out of 10 stars I would give this a solid 7.5, not great, but a fun game to pick up for cheap and kill some time with.

If you haven't played this, it really is good. And since it's been a few months, the price has actually dropped a bit, so it's more worth a play. Has a lot of aspects of Arkham City in it. There's a lot you can do, and you can keep going even after you beat the game. The story is very well put together, too. And follows right after the movie. So, watch the movie, then pick up the game and continue the story. The comic book pages are the only irritating portion though. There are sooooo many of them to gather. And you don't have maps with their locations like the Riddler Trophies in Arkham Asylum, or people to interrogate like in Arkham City. But, aside from that, I found it very enjoyable. Even has some nice alternate costumes, including Future Foundations which I don't recall appearing in ...

I don't play them with others (mainly because I don't have anybody to play with), but I have a lot of the rule books for various tabletop RPGs that I use as reference and recreational reading material, particularly 2nd Edition AD&D.

I also used to play quite a bit Magic: The Gathering with my younger brother years ago.

I had tried getting a Shadowrun game going but pnp games seem to not be as big. Most of the local groups don't accept new members.
Alpha Flight in Off Topic by mpelichoff

   [Edit]
So I am pretty far behind on reading my books and just got around to reading Astonishing X-Men #51, and I am confused about something. Isn't Alpha Flight dead? I seem to remember them all being plowed through by someone or other that landed from space or something in an issue of one of the X-books a few years back. I also know that the only person that stays dead in comics is Uncle Ben. So did miss their resurrection or did someone make a HUGE continuity error?...[See More]

Megaman anyone? in Off Topic by 50percentJoe
Thursday, June 14, 2012
   [Edit]
So I've been on a tangent all this month about Megaman. I'm not sure what caused it, but the little fanboy in me from my childhood started thinking about how much I missed the games. I dug around and kept digging until I found what few Megaman games I own; Megaman Legends 1 and 2, Megaman X, and the original bad box art NES cartridge of Megaman 1. I think I have a few GBA games here and there as well. I've started replaying the Legends titles and was actually kind of surprised... for games there are literally over 10 years old each they hold up. The first one doesn't hold up near as well as part 2, but they both are still charming and well animated with likable characters. I started trying to find a copy of the Misadventures of Tron Bonne, ...[See More]

I always liked the X series probably the absolute best due to one key feature... DASHING! The dash ability introduced by Megaman X made the whole series adjust to a completely new level of control for me.

Misadventures is the one Legends game I never got to finish, and the worst part is... Its apparently NEVER ran well on any emulator. I'm seriously almost entirely out of luck in wanting to play and beat it.

I plan on getting the originals and the collections for the newer systems. Can't believe Misadventures is that expensive, then again some games just get that way for whatever reason.

I'm a big fan of Mega Man as well--I like the classic games better than the X, Zero, Legends, etc. spinoff series, but I own, or have played, most of them. Mega Man 4, on the NES, is probably my favorite out of all of them.

Social bookmarking is a means for people to share items of interest with others, without having to provide the full text of an item or explain it fully. It can give huge benefits for your website but there are sites you should avoid and sites you should really pay attention to.

Report: America's sheriff Andy Griffith dead at 86 - TODAY Entertainment

Nice!
I bought an X-Men #2 for 99cents at goodwill, Bummer is it doesn't have the cover but the rest of the book is in fantastic condition.
When I was really young I found a Wonder Woman #28 at a thrift store for $19.99, Being so young $20 bucks was big money for me but it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen (LoL) and I kept talking about it and my grandmother broke down and took me over to buy it.
Bummer here is I remember there was 2 other old WW's, Possibly lower numbered, But the one I got was in the best condition.
